Mechanical Engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics and material science for the design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of engines, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment’s. The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2017 with an aim to provide application-based quality education to students. The Department places heavy emphasis on the laboratory component in the teaching curriculum and innovative research projects. Students are exposed to real industry situations through industrial visits and trainings. Regular activities are also organized to enhance the morale of students. The Department has well qualified and experienced team of faculty specialized in different fields of Mechanical Engineering, who are committed to provide quality education.

HYDRAULIC MACHINES & INDUSTRIAL FLUID POWER LAB

Fluid mechanics is important in the design & analysis of flow problems in pipes, dams etc. Fluid power find its application in flow through pipes, hydro turbines, hydraulic drives etc.

This laboratory is well equipped to cater the above and the major equipments includes Francis Turbine, Pelton Turbine, Pipe Friction Apparatus, Centrifugal Pump etc.

The theory of machines mainly used to design & analyse machines by considering the forces involved & motion of various parts.

Simple machines are useful in reducing human effort and perform tasks which are impossible for human beings to do. Mechanical measurement is inevitable for understanding machine behaviour , identifying potential failures and ensuring compliance with standards.

This lab is equipped with apparatus like Cam Analysis Apparatus, Journal Bearing Apparatus, Vernier Height Gauge, Sine Bar, Micrometer, Vernier Calliper etc.

Automotives play a vital role in human life. Basic knowledge of automotive engines and transmission components are essential for a mechanical engineer. The Automobile lab of the department has the major equipment like 4-Stroke Car Engine (100 Cc), Cut Section Of 4- Speed Gear Box, Working Models Of 2-Stroke And 4- Stroke Engines, Hydraulic Braking System etc.

Mechanical Engineering lab is the combination of various basic mechanical equipments which provide the base of a mechanical engineer. This lab includes major components from various subjects like materials testing, fuels & combustion, IC engines and testing, fluid mechanics.

The laboratory is well equiopped with components like Flow Through Pipes Apparatus, Single Cylinder 2-Stroke Petrol Engine Test Rig, Pressure Measuring Devices, Impact Testing Machine, Searle’s Apparatus, Parallel Force Apparatus etc.

Refrigeration and Air conditioning finds its application in various fields. Starting from households to large buildings and process plants air conditioning is of utmost importance.

The refrigeration and Air conditioning Lab of the department has major equipments like Vapour compression refrigeration test rig, Vapour absorption refrigeration test rig, air conditioning test rig, refrigerant charging cylinder with accessories etc.

Modern industrial design and manufacturing have completely adopted computer aided systems. Well trained CAD/CAM engineers are still required in large numbers for enterprises.

To provide sound knowledge to students about basic CAD/CAM our department is equipped with 30 numbers of dedicated computers loaded with softwares like Auto-CAD, Solidworks, Ansys etc.

A mechanical workshop is of primary importance as it helps students and engineers to design, fabricate & repair mechanical components/ parts. Hands-on training in workshop skills is of great demand.

The mechanical workshop of the department embodies machines like Capstan lathe, Centre Lathe, Radial drilling machine, Grinding machine, milling machine, Arc Welding machine, various fitting tools etc.
